With over fifteen years of guiding experience gained in rivers on the Oregon Coast, Central Washington, in the great Alaskan frontier, and in the Patagonia region of Chile, Nathan Cornelius and his team at Castaway Guide Service can help you to improve your fishing skills while delivering an unforgettable experience as you float down some of the most beautiful rivers in Oregon.
Owner Nathan Cornelius
Nathan Cornelius, owner of Castaway Guide Sevice, began fishing the Nestucca, Siletz and Tillamook-area rivers as a child growing up on the Oregon Coast. After years of honing his skills, he put his talents to work and began to guide professionally amongst the best of the best in the great Alaskan frontier. He was then recruited by a lodge in the Patagonia region of Chile and, for many years, split his time between guiding summers in Alaska and winters in South America. His passion for the rivers of his youth, however, inspired him to return to home waters and commence his work with Castaway Guide Service in order to share the abundance and natural beauty to be found in the rivers of the Oregon Coast.
Partner TJ Zandoli
T.J. Zandoli grew up on the Oregon Coast, and was immersed in a fishing culture from an early age. What began as a family hobby led him to pursue fishing on his own and to discover new waters and methods, including fly fishing. After many years of fine-tuning his skills, he began to spend summers as an Alaskan fishing guide in the Bristol Bay region, which fills his time when the rivers of Oregon drop below ideal conditions. Although he loves guiding in Alaska each year, he always looks forward to the promise of Fall Chinook and Winter Steelhead in Oregon. Though having fished and guided in Central Oregon, Washington, and Alaska, he has always called the Oregon Coast home. After years of traveling, and always coming back to the Nestucca River, he finally decided to buy a home on its banks, and now spends his entire Fall and Winter fishing the Nestucca, Trask, and Kilchis rivers for Salmon, Steelhead, and Sea-run Cutthroat Trout.
